I agree. I thought the officiating left much to be desired during a lot of this years Bowls.

I think it's silly that college and pro football have different rules. Imagine going to a AAA baseball game and finding out the runners can't leave the base until the ball has crossed home plate ! That replay rule that is not "coach driven" and at the risk of loss of timeouts is the worst.

So many bowl teams came from the TOP confrences, which ment crews had to come from some of the smaller confrences. Alot of crews that you see on TV work for more than one confrence. I referee high school basketball, and a few of the guys I work with also referee football, some at the DI level for C-USA.

Sorry, let me clarify... I thought that The Horns got some calls that should have gone the other way, then there were those which were evident that they were in favor of The Horns and they didn't get the call...

I don't like the one foot in bounds rule. But it plays in favor of the College Teams... Then again... We always played with the two foot in bounds rule... Oh well!

It pains me to congratulate the 'horns,as my family is all Aggies, but after seeing the lack of class displayed by leinart and some of the USC players, I have to give them their due.

But anyone on here besides me that would be happy if Keith Jackson lost his damn voice permanently?

1130 total yards between the 2 teams..... Young had 467 yrds.......

BigFat,

Young had the highest completion percentage in the Nation. He will be a top ranked QB in the NFL. He was 30-40 passing and only took off running after he went thru all his progressions and noone was open.....

No one in the top 18 attempted fewer passes. Those recievers weren't covered all season. No one in the top 18 completed fewer passes. The average of the top 17 was 278 completions. If the NFL is turning into QBs that do not need to throw the ball then he probably will make it. Just like Michael Vick has made it. I stopped at 18 because that's were V Young ranks. I'm not knocking his athletic ability. He's got a ton of it. I just don't think he'll cut it as a QB in the NFL. I hope he proves me wrong but the #s just aren't there.

I'm sure this stat board will unreadable.

bigfat, your stats show that he has the highest percentage? His yards and attempts/completion isnt as high as some but how many games did he sit on the bench after the 2nd or 3rd quarter? He will be drafted as a QB and possibly Houstons #1 pick. Your right though, only time will tell.

The Texans don't need a QB. They just needs an O line. I'd think they would be better off taking Reggie. The threat of a runner like him would stop defenses from blitzing all the freaking time and give Carr a little time to step up and throw the ball. Although if you don't have an O line Vince would be a great fit. As fast and as strong as he is, he could put up some huge rushing #s as a QB while running for his life.

I think this discussion is a little premature anyways. Vince will probably be back in a Longhorn Uni next season.

My stats show him ranked 3rd in percentage. I got it off of ESPN.com.

Not sure what percent of the snaps he took. A fine point. But, what if all that time that he could of played he would have thrown a lot more incompletions?? :P

Sorry, I meant his qb rating... If he does come out and Houston picks him, they can trade Carr or Young and get a better offensive line. If they draft Bush, they still have the same line. Houston also has a good RB. Young is from Houston, he will bring new energy to the team and city which they need and trade Carr and build a line that can protect him. The teams are looking for those mobile QB's, look at all the hype Vick gets. Tampa Bay built a defense just to stop Vick and it worked. Vick will never be a true QB(pocket passer) but Young can be...

Lets back up for a second... Young can throw, he can run, he has a great ability to read the defense and knows when to hand off... PLEASE don't forget, he is one of the best at running a NO huddle offense... Then don't forget, as someone else mentioned; he gives credit where credit is due. How many times did he change the subject from him to the rest of the team?

Ok, #1 downfall, they need to find someone to speak for him... It will come with time, heck the first time they interviewed Dale Jr. I thought they were going to have to cut to a commercial... Young may not be the most talented, but he sure is up there... I know one thing, if he stays and completes his senior year, USC nor any other team will look at him the same ever again... Many people thought USC was going on a cake walk... NOT!!! Whatever Young decides to do, he'll be one to watch for years to come...

Pro football in Houston would really catch back on if VY went to play for this club. I think alot of Houstonians are still smoked about the luv ya blue Oilers getting yanked away by Adams.

Young being a hometown dude who tore it up in high school and now with UT would really help the Texas popularity.

All that being said, I hope he stays. Not sure if Colt McCoy can get us to Tempe next January.

I agree, Houston has a quarterback, they just don't have any protection for him. There's no "up" side to Vince coming back to Texas for one more year. He has nothing to prove and his stock isn't going to go any higher; his coming back would be good for UT, but not for Vince.

On the other hand, if Vince was drafted and signed to play (not for "draft trade material"), season ticket sales, radio contracts and so on would go through the roof for the Houston Texans. Anybody remember what Earl Campbell's impact was on those areas when he signed to play for the Oilers?

Draft Vince, trade Carr. As for Reggie Bush, remember what he said after Texas stopped him in the Rose Bowl: "They didn't do anything special, they just played good defense." Nobody has stopped Vince Young yet.

The bottom line may just be the same bottom line it always is: money. Vince could single-handedly, as Campbell did, change the "fortunes" of the Houston NFL team. Reggie Bush can't do that.
