Amsoil announces a price increase effective 07/01/06.

Word on the street is that most oil companies will be raising prices. Mobil is scheduled to go up $.30 per quart. Valvoline is to go up before the end of the month.

The word is base stocks and additive are both going up for synthetic oils.

Lapping all but the top nine finishers, the Team AMSOIL modified driver pocketed $2,000 to bring his season winnings total to more than $25,000 as he padded his national points lead. Shryock also was the AMSOIL lap leader for the evening after leading all 40 laps.

Smith Dream-less in 2006

Rossburg, Ohio ~ Team AMSOIL Late Model driver Brady Smith took his #2 Chevy Monte Carlo to the famed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio last weekend for the “Dream 100.” The Solon Springs, Wis. native timed in 37th fastest of the 150 competitors on Friday night at the ½ mile, high-banked dirt oval. Smith rolled off from the middle of the fourth row in his 15-lap heat race and was up to fifth before suffering a flat tire. Unfortunately, the Deuce was done for the night, as he failed to make the starting grid for the 100-lap, $100,000 to win ‘Dream.’

“We had a good car at Eldora over the weekend, but just didn’t get the luck to go with it,” commented Smith earlier. “Being in the first heat race, I was on the gas the entire way around Eldora. I was able to pass a few cars and was working on Darren Miller for position and he checked up on us. Unfortunately I got into him, which caused some front-end damage to the car. On the restart our tire blew and that was the end of our night. Maybe we can get some luck this week and put the AMSOIL #2 in victory lane!”

Smith will be turning his schedule to compete in the World Dirt Racing League for a majority of the remainder of the season. He had stops closer to home this week, including races at Cedar Lake Speedway and Superior, Wis. AMSOIL is the Official Oil of both the WDRL and Cedar Lake Speedway.

Team AMSOIL Starts Strong

Antigo, Wis. ~ Team AMSOIL Championship Off-Road Racer Dave Waldvogel picked up where he left his 2005 championship season last weekend. In the first round of the CORR Sportsman Stock class at the Antigo Speedway, Waldvogel won Saturday’s race convincingly and now sits on top of the point’s race with 28 points. Another Team AMSOIL driver, Eric Ruppel, who is sponsored by AMSOIL Dealer Walt Patterson, is in second place with 26 points in the stock division.

Ruppel and Waldvogel will join the AMSOIL/Kumho Tires Super Team next weekend, June 24-25, at the Crandon International Off-Road Raceway for round two of the CORR series. Dan Vanden Heuvel, Scott Douglas, Mike Oberg and Dan Vanden Heuvel, Jr. will be competing in the annual event that boast a record purse of $25,000 for the overall winner.

Smith Dialed In, But Out of Race

Late Model racer fast, but invert rules slow weekend

Solon Springs, Wis. ~ Team AMSOIL late model driver Brady Smith and his #2 team traveled to the famed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio last weekend for the annual running of the 'World 100.' Unfortunately, Smith was one of 167 participants that did not make the starting field for the prestigious event, which only starts 28 drivers in the A-Main. The driver of the AMSOIL Monte Carlo timed in an impressive sixth fastest in qualifying on Friday, September 8, but could only muster a sixth-place finish in his heat race and an eighth-place effort in the B-Main on Saturday.

“We qualified great the other night, but with the six-car invert in each heat, it was a little too good,” commented Smith. “The invert not only hurt me, but only two of the top ten qualifiers made the show through the heat races or the B-Main. Our car was pretty good on Saturday, but with the quality of competition in your heat race and consolation event, it makes it really tough. But, we are getting better and better each time we visit Eldora so that is encouraging.”

The Brady Smith Racing team will travel south to the Hawkeye State this weekend for the annual ‘Yankee Dirt Classic’ in Farley, Iowa. The popular midwestern event is held each year at the Farley Speedway and this year’s winner will go home with a cool $10,000. The action kicks off at the “Palace of Speed” on Friday, with the 100-lap A-Main slated for Saturday evening
