rebelracewriter
Huge Changes for the CLMA DIRTcar Series in 2011! by: Cory Moul, CLMA DIRTcar Series Owner/Promoter After operating the series for the past 7 years JT and Sandy Botts have decided to step down. With everything that they have going on with their trucking business they do not have the time needed to run the series the way that hey would like to see it run. They have done a great job and have taken the series from a Colorado series that ran at two tracks and made it a regional series that races at several tracks in the region. Thank you to JT and Sandy from all of the racers and crews for what you have done with the CLMA. Last years 2010 Director of Promotions, Cory Moul, will be taking over the series in 2011. Cory has been involved with the CLMA since it started 10 years ago as a crew member and decided to take on the Promotions position in 2010. He also has promoted several local four wheel drive events and the largest Toys for Tots event in the Rocky Mountain region for the past 5 years. He hopes to take everything that he has learned over the years and make the series even better. The first thing that Cory has decided to do is change the name of the series to the Championship Late Model Association DIRTcar Series. Since the series doesn't just race in Colorado and has become more of a regional series he decided it was time to change the name. There will also be a new website that will be launched in a few weeks. The series will continue its partnership with DIRTcar in 2011 and all series races will count towards DIRTcar Regional and National points. In 2011 there will be a few changes to the schedule with races at three tracks that the series has never raced at before, Aztec Speedway (Aztec, NM), Southern New Mexico Speedway (Las Cruces, NM), and for the first time ever the series will go to Texas at El Paso Speedway Park (El Paso, TX). The CLMA will be returning to Gillette Thunder Speedway (Gillette, WY), Casper Speedway (Casper, WY), Black Hills Speedway (Rapid City, SD), and the Great American Dirt Track (Jetmore, KS) in 2011. They are working on adding a few more races in Colorado, Kansas, and Wyoming. There will be a few more exciting changes announced in the next couple of weeks so keep checking back at www.coloradolatemodel.com. 2011 Championship Late Model Association DIRTcar Series Tentative Super Late Model Schedule APRIL Saturday, 4/30 - Great American Dirt Track (Jetmore, KS) MAY Sunday, 5/1 - Great American Dirt Track (Jetmore, KS) Friday, 5/13 - Black Hills Speedway (Rapid City, SD) Saturday, 5/14 - Gillette Thunder Speedway (Gillette, WY) JUNE Friday, June 3rd - Casper Speedway (Casper, WY) Saturday, June 4th - TBA Friday, June 10th - Black Hills Speedway (Rapid City, SD) Saturday, June 11th - Gillette Thunder Speedway (Gillette, WY) Saturday, June 25th - Great American Dirt Track (Jetmore, KS) JULY Saturday, July 2nd - Aztec Speedway (Aztec, NM) Sunday, July 3rd - Aztec Speedway (Aztec, NM) Friday, July 29th - TBA Saturday, July 30th - TBA AUGUST Friday, August 19th - Casper Speedway (Casper, WY) Saturday, August 20th - Gillette Thunder Speedway (Gillette, WY) SEPTEMBER Friday, September 2nd - TBA Saturday, September 3rd - Aztec Speedway (Aztec, NM) Sunday, September 4th - Aztec Speedway (Aztec, NM) Friday, September 16th - El Paso Speedway Park (El Paso, TX) Saturday, September 17th - S.
