2011 NCRA Late Model Schedule Announced!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Midwest City, Oklahoma – January 30, 2011 - Familiar venues, one new stop and a revisit after a thirteen year hiatus highlight the eighteen race schedule for the National Championship Racing Association late model division as it was officially released at the series season ending banquet Saturday night.

The 28th season for the late model series kicks off in grand fashion on Saturday night, April 30th at The Great American Dirt Track in Jetmore, Kansas for the second annual “Sunflower State Showdown” which will once again pay $10,000 to win. This year’s event will be condensed to a one night event with the MARS DIRTCar, CLMA DIRTCar and Lucas Oil MLRA late model series also competing.

A shortened version of “Showdown in the Heartland III” with the MARS DIRTCar series will kick off at “The Hummer,” Humboldt Speedway in Humboldt, Kansas on Friday night, May 6th in the NCRA late models first ever visit to the quarter mile speed plant for a $3000 to win show. From there it will be off to the home of the series, 81 Speedway in Park City, Kansas for the first of three appearances on the season. While the Memorial Day weekend agenda is still the same after eight years, the opening venue to kick off things off changes as Junction Motor Speedway in McCool Junction, Nebraska will kick things off on Saturday night, May 28th. This event had been held at Mid-Nebraska Speedway in Doniphan since 2002. The next night will be the annual “Alphabet Soup” at I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Nebraska for the usual Sunday night duel with the Lucas Oil Late Model series.

On Saturday night, June 18th it will be the first and only appearance of the season at Thunder Hill Speedway in Mayetta, Kansas before the series second appearance of the season at 81 Speedway.

Another big three days of action will take place over the Independence Day holiday weekend as the series heads back to I-80 Speedway on Friday night, July 1st before heading up to Corning, Iowa and Adams County Speedway on Saturday night. The Belleville High Banks then close out the weekend for the series familiar Sunday night event. The 9th annual NCRA Late Model Nationals will hit Mid-Nebraska Speedway on Saturday night, July 16th.

Then on Friday and Saturday night, August 12-13 it will be the 8th annual “King of the Hill” with the Lucas Oil MLRA at Junction Motor Speedway.

The annual Labor Day weekend of racing will be three nights of racing this year instead of the normal two as Humboldt Speedway will host the series and another $3000 to win event on Friday night, September 1st before heading to their final appearance of the season at 81 Speedway on Saturday night. The traditional Sunday night show at the Belleville High Banks will close out the holiday weekend as the division will join forces with the series other two premiere classes, the sprint cars and modifieds.

An old familiar venue will close out the season for the series late model division as the big fairgrounds half mile oval of Thunderbird Speedway in Muskogee, Oklahoma will host the series for the first time since August of 1998 on Friday and Saturday night, September 23-24.

The 2011 race season will be the 41st consecutive year for the NCRA, which sanctions the sprint car, late model, modified, southern sport mod and new Great Plains regional late model divisions throughout the Great Plains.
