j.j.&s.racing
is it true that the cars that come from c.c.have to start scratch on the 24th.are we not doing time trials?im talking about the s.s.if you look at c.c.points im in a tight points race my self.ive been coming to this race ever since i had my camero.if the fast guys start in the back then that would be fair. race45
this would be something we need to know. Some teams are trying to make final plans to atend for one night or two. If The corpus cars are starting scratch then why come to qualifying. I know i would only come to the race. Clare
gen11
They did mention in the driver's meeting that the lineup was set by points average. Time trials were for points only. Not entirely sure that this is set in stone though. I don't know what classes have tight points battles and why that would even matter. A real champion would overcome whatever situation arises. Gonna have a hard time getting more cars if they have to start in the back. I think we should qualify and use times to set the grid. Roll dice or draw for starting spots for the top six. Whatever it takes to put on the best show. But then again, I'm out of the points race so I might be biased. Last year they just did not award points to nonregistered cars. Maybe the spectacular should not be a points race at all. Don't cuss me for the last statement point contenders. debwill
I'm trying to get y'all some answers. It looks like we awarded points last year to our THR drivers but not the CCS drivers (found Kathy's spreadsheet). However, I don't know for sure how the lineups were done after qualifying (inversions or point averages).

However, I don't know for sure how the lineups were done after qualifying (inversions or point averages). Â If I remember correctly, we did time trials with inversions based on the draw last year at the spectacular. However, the lineups at THR have been done completely different this year. If you miss a race, you are not eligible to start by points average and have to start behind drivers with points averages who didn't miss the last race. If you haven't raced at all, you start at the back. Â Personally, I would hope that the spectacular would be different.
MatKam10
I am needing to know as well. I agree with yall on making the spectacular different. I really enjoy racing and attending the weekend with yall. Either way we lineup, i should be there. On another note, don't have the mad house restarts now. so john all we would have to do is choose the outside hahaha.

Mel
Last year in Corpus for the big year end race we qualified maybe 10 or 12, and ran heat races to determine the remainder of the field. that seemed to work out pretty well. Something like that should be OK to everyone. Â Mel

It looks like we awarded points last year to our THR drivers but not the CCS drivers (found Kathy's spreadsheet). However, I don't know for sure how the lineups were done after qualifying (inversions or point averages). Last year, Sportmods qualified, and then top six qualifiers drew for starting spot fastest to slowest. Not saying we should do the same this year just a reminder. I don't recall what the other classes did. It seemed like each class was a little different. No points were awarded to nonregistered drivers. Hope that helps Deb. MatKam10
Hey Mel, That ain't a bad idea. As a racer aspect, if you don't qualify so great you would have a heat race to try and fix it up. I vote for that!
TheCloser
being the "Big Race" in everyone's eyes we should run time trials in my opinion.

debwill
Actually, yes, I think we've come up with a tentative plan for the Spectacular. During our sign-in process, each driver will draw for their qualifying order. After qualifying, we will probably have the Top 6 drivers draw for starting position. We hope to get more information out soon. We're sorry it has taken so long to get y'all some answers.
