txtom
Reading the race report, it sounds a little like the 2007 ASA Challenge race at San Antonio. Low buck guy dominates the big dollar teams. Congratulations to Colt and the team.

txtom
The AA400 has some issues-- The following from the CRA website: CRA officials announced today that the CRA Super Series would not be going to Fairgrounds Speedway in Nashville at the end of the month. Following discussions today with track promoter Bobby Hamilton Jr., the groups mutually agreed that the Super Late Models would not be part of the All-American weekend. Hamilton Jr. plans to run his local late models instead. According to CRA co-owner R. J. Scott, "unfortunate circumstances surrounding the Fairgrounds Speedway in Nashville led us to the need to part ways for this event. There were too many questions surrounding the weekend, and it’s a big expense for the teams to plan to travel there with questions still unanswered about the event. Bobby was very good to work with in the discussion to part ways, and noted that this would allow him to focus on his local teams for the All American weekend. We wish Bobby Jr. and all the local teams the best of luck in their event. "
dano36
Got the information about the same time you did Tom. I am still going to Nashville since my youngest brother lives there and whether we go to see the show Bobby Hamilton, Jr. says they will still have will be up to him. He said they will run the 200 with the local LM series which I understand is the KenTen which I had thought pulled out of Nashville about mid season. Sterling Marlin will be the only name there most likely since he does run there regular now but most of the "shoes" in that area more than likely will be over at Hickory for the weekend. Sorry I won't get to see Colt again this year but not to worry, one of these days I will catch up with him.
joneill814
Dano the Late model race being run is the local LM class that runs at the track every race. They lost the KenTen series a while back. Not sure what Bobby's deal is. I am suppose to run in the USST 100 lap race there that weekend but no decision has been made on whether Bobby is going to run the weekend or just cancel it. I have a call with the folks at USST on Monday to see what the final decision is. Unfortnately doesn't look like the track is doing all that great under Bobby's management. Hopefully we will still get to race, and as soon as I know I will let you know. Thanks Jeff O'Neill #51 NASCAR Pro Truck.
dano36
Thanks Rowdy. Let me know because I will come out to see you run. I think they were running the trucks on Saturday but no telling what will happen now. But I will be in Nashville regardless and hope to see you there. The rumor mill is saying Bobby Jr. is having financial prob lems at both the Fairgrounds and the Rim.
txtom
All ya'll talking about the AA400 weekend may need to change your plans; word on the street is that weekend has been cancelled, and the track is done for the season. Anything about 2012 is currently TBA..........
dano36
Have not heard about that Yet Tom but the date has been dropped from their website so your word is probably accurate. I had heardHamilton was having financial problems at both the Fairgrounds and the Rim. Don't really know what went wrong but early in the season he had a couple pretty heavy financial backers. I also heard a rumor that he and Chad Chaffin had a falling out and they split up that partnership. With that in mind Tom I really think this will be the fatal blow to the Fairgrounds speedway. The mayor of Nashville was waiting for this to happen.

The mayor of Nashville was waiting for this to happen. The All-American 400 weekend has been canceled. CRA pulled out when Bobby couldn't come up with the money CRA was wanting for the event. Not CRA's fault in anyway. The USST Trucks are also not running which sucks because I had a ride setup for that race. Speed51 and others are reporting the same thing, racing season is over for the fairgrounds for the remainder of 2011. I know Bobby has the lease for one more season but Sterling Marlin is pushing hard to get the lease from Bobby. Chad and Bobby have split and Chad is no longer involved with the fairgrounds. Will keep you posted Dano as I find out more. Thanks Jeff
dano36
Thanks to both Tom and Jeff for the update. Will be going to Nashville on that weekend to visit my brother so maybe I can come back with some good news aout that place. Would love to see Sterling Marlin get that lease because he wants a 5 year lease because he apparently has some serious money backing him who wants more than just a short term lease. They want to erect the sound barrier wall along the back stretch to appease the nonresident owners of the houses on the hill plus many track and grandstand improvements. Bobby got the 2 year lease without having to make those improvements but he did get them to run mufflers on all classes. Sure was hoping to see you run that truck Rowdy. I will hopefully next season. Take care.
