texcraig
Good event, lots of fans and great car counts. Some thought is needed on the lack of a yellow on the last lap of the Pro Mod race, some one could have been hurt real bad. A lot of "Good Hard Racing", but also a lot of Demo Derby racing. Good Hard racing = more car count, more fans. Demo Derby racing = less cars and less fans. Food for thought.

Budman
Don't know how CTS does it. Last month it was the "Bud 250". Last night it was the "Bob Cat Shoot-Out". Regards, Budman TSU "Bobcat" Class of '
HiTech
Don't know how CTS does it. Last month it was the "Bud 250". Last night it was the "Bob Cat Shoot-Out". Regards, Budman TSU "Bobcat" Class of '73 come on bud it is easy .when the cars show up and the fans show up ....funny i read your class of 73 and got up to turn the ac on ..temp 73 ..and that was the year i finally walked out of school for the last time ..good to see you again ..glad you saved my life with that kid in the go kart or what ever they call them ..never found out why that driver drove right into the fence in the pits .but after we knew something was wrong with the driver by the way the driver never slowed down with us ... all i could see in after thought was two busted up legs both ankles and then some missed me by inches ...... Good Hard racing = more car count, more fans. Demo Derby racing = less cars and less fans. Food for thought. I am not so sure about your Demo Derby racing deal. The fans really like it, they go crazy. They love to see wrecks. This happens all the time at Kyle because it is a one grove track, usually, and the leader blocks the second place guy if he is faster. There are exceptions, like when two brother go at it, like the truck race, they done tear each other up. But, what you usually see is the old "shut the door" trick from the leaders and the fans love it when the second place car gets fed up and does not back out. The fans of the leader boo and the rest of the crowd go crazy. They love it.
HiTech
maybe you dont own a car but that excitement that some fans go crazy over cost teams a lot of money ...texcraig ,makes a good point .as for fans point of view as your post states those are the ones that love demos . maybe the track can have one this year .. .. seeing i have hands on for the past 30 years i am not crazy about some ones car getting torn up .`i have to admit i and most teams at one time sat up in the stands looking for that wreck to happen ...once you know what it takes to field a car you will feel less likely to injoy the wrecks as most of the other fans who dont know would feel ..we have new fans with the 8 grandstock and some have admitted they had no ideal what teams go through and the cost that goes into this ..does not matter what class of car it is .they cost .those same new fans now admit they would rather see a good go for it door rubbing race over cars on the hook every car on the hook is one less that started the field gets thinner and just maybe if all car that started finished, the leaders would have to contend with em during the race and maybe some passing will go on .. ..either way racers and tracks are really glad both types of fans show up .. fast18
Yep a lot of fans like the wrecks. I sat up in the stands and watched as many races as I could before my race. I cringe almost everytime I see a wreck. I see time and money going down the drain. The harder wrecks have me worrying about the drivers even though most of these cars are very safe. If a lot of cars start getting tore up some of the drivers may quit coming back. I hope those who are being careless, over aggressive or whatever will back off some. Car counts are going in the right direction. Everyone would like to see that continue. I have one Big Complaint about saturday night. It's about the Pro Mod Race. I did not see it because I was strapped in my car waiting to race. It seemed to me they were having a Demo Derby ! I felt like we were lined up forever. Anyone walking by probably had a good laugh hearing me cussing my ass off back there in the dark.

UMSCHEIDRaceServices
Not sure why you say its a one groove track? you must not have been there this past weekend or early last year. FACTS The 99 of Casey Smith ran the 2nd lane in race #2 of the year for almost 20 laps before finally clearing the car on the bottom. The modified race was won when the 50 car completed a pass on the outside and went on to win The 80 street stock an a few others completed passes in the 2nd lane The truck race was run 2 wide for majority of the race and not just the leaders even back in the day the 99, 28, 3 and a few other street stocks would run 2 wide I know i have used the 2nd lane numerous times as did my brother and father in the modifieds and limited modifieds which reminds me the last TALMS race was 2 and 3 wide the whole race Maybe you sould come support the track and watch the races!!!! Have a great day JC
HiTech
Fast 18 I could here you at times standing 2 cars behind you lol and i bet you were doing the same waiting for your race strapped in in the hot sun .we were starting to worry about that ...yellows kept coming out for the frontrunners they had some good hard racing going on .yeah sat in those cars close to an half hour or so to long .least 18 had the dark . top_shelf_12
Fast18 nailed it. Demo style driving will drive away. As a fan, that style may be fun for a bit then frustration sets in and you yell to finish the race then get pissed when you go back and either it's another crash fest or car counts drop. I think he touched on another thing from the fans point of view. Sometimes when you're watching a race you can forget there's someone in that car so as fun as it is to watch the carnage that fun is ruined when you see someone loaded in an ambulance then think of the financial side of it, not only on the car but medically, family stress, etc. Now I know no one wants to see anyone get hurt or hurt someone else or shouldn't, not at least with the car. fastmontgomery15
I thought it was one of the best races put on there in a while. But damn was it Hot!!! Very proud dad this weekend I thought my son did a great job in his new #15 Super Stock. It felt weird to race against out old car. LOL! One thing I ask can we bring sleeping bags and take a nap in the drivers meeting room the a/c was nice? We had a great weekend with some pretty cool race car drivers!! As always great job Hot Rod, Cowboy Brad, And whoever that guy is in tech!!! Edited June 3, 2014 by fastmontgomery15
blackflag18
Yes I would have to agree with JC, I saw our truck video that my wife recorded today and Colt and Shawn put on a hell of a race tons of experience behind the wheel of both of those trucks. I only got to do about 10 laps before contact was made with 88 truck and got flat going into turn 1. I was able to make it to turn 4 when the leaders were coming back around and I decided to stop before I got to concrete wall. I was black flagged cause I stopped on the track and bought out the yellow flag and was not let back on track by officials. I'm glad I stopped there cause as hard as Colt and Shawn were running I might of been in the way. I think safety should be the number one priority of the drivers and late caution flags should be addressed. texcraig
Topshelf12,Hi Tech and Fast 18 thanks for the support and lets try to get this thought to grow among all the drivers. We all know there are a few drivers/teams with VERY deep pockets that can stand the torn up cars. BUT by far the majority of the drivers can't, and are out there to have fun in a great sport. I set in the stands Sat night and heard a LOT of fans that did not like all the yellows. They DID like the close truck race between 28 & 15 that did not end in totaled trucks. And top_ shelf hit on it, sometimes it is forgotten that there IS A PERSON in that car. The drivers control the show, and it CAN be done with out torn up cars when all respect each other. CTS had great car counts Sat night and a grandstand full of race fans, lets keep it going. We all want CTS to make it and be profitable for years to come. It still boils down to the simple formula, Good hard respectful racing = more car count = more fans = CTS makes money = drivers have a place to race. Demo Derby style racing = less cars = less fans = CTS loses money = no place to race.
iwinn12x
I was soakin-wet boiling in ball soup with that 3 layer 1 piece suit waiting for the front runners to finish up and I think #7 (Jessie) was taking a nap in his car behind me. lol
top_shelf_12
I don't think there were a lot of happy people around us at the last race I was at with all the yellows and wrecks and not all the unhappy people stayed the whole night and they are people that have been around racing many many years. We'll see how it goes from here on out now.
