So, the tradition of 100 degree temperatures continues for this weekend despite whatever month the race actually takes place, weird. The Southern Drag Boat Association(SDBA) kicks off its 2024 season with the long-standing Lakefest event held on Lake Marble Falls “liquid quarter mile.” The race week began with boats showing up from around the country setting up in the pit area parking lot. Friday was the usual 'Show-n-Shine' held in the pits giving drivers the opportunity to show off their rides. It also give the fans a get up close, take pictures and meet the drivers, plus a throttle whack or two to break the nights silence. Show-n-Shine was followed by a concert in Johnson Park by LC Rocks. Qualifying begins Saturday at 9:00am concluding around 5:00pm. Eliminations are Sunday, again beginning at 9:00am with all the final rounds run at the end, highlighted by the Top Fuel finale.
