Military Appreciation Night/STIMS @ I-37 Speedway by Rush Race Gear

Pleasanton, TX.,(July 6th, 2024) Ain't skeered of no hurricane….

The tradition of celebrating our nation's independence continues with I-37 Speedways 'Military Appreciation Night' at the races. The night offers free admission to all active/retired service members. The evening kicked off with an honor guard salute during pre-race activities and fireworks(scheduled) post-race.

It would have been a full night of racing with seven classes scheduled; The Late Models, STIMS(South Texas IMCA Modified Series), Limited Modifieds, Factory Stocks, Fireballs, Sport Compacts and the second race in the trilogy for the E-Mods sponsored by 366 Motorsports.

Ryan Doyon has moved into the STIMS points lead eight ahead of Chris Carroll with Rick Green falling to third, Chris Morris fourth and Jacob Hortch round out the top five. The four previous I-37 Speedway races have seen Chris Morris take two wins, both at the expense of Doyon, Logan Dinsmore and Cody Leonard.

Jared Maupin picked the victory last race out in Corpus Christi(South Tx. Race Ranch), his second of the season tying Morris in race wins. Dinsmore leads the winners column picking up three checkers so far, but sitting seventh in points after missing two events. Carroll and Doyon have one victory each.

The E-Mods first event of their series back in May saw a first time winner as Parker Titzman battled back and forth with Daniel Preston then held him off following a late caution. Preston, Caden Valente, Charles Flanagan and Jaden Edmund held the other top five spots.

Sadly with nearly 120 cars in the pits, Mother Nature decided everyone was having a good time and she wasn't. So she dumped a ton a water on the track about three-fourths of the way through heat races, ending the night.

****From track post; Racers keep your wristbands for a free entry next race. All spectators and pit passes will be 1/2 off next race. Also, we will call 50/50 next race as well so keep your tickets.
